Blonde Baby Raccoon and Her Brunette Sister at WildCare
IMPORTANT!!
This is Blackjack, our permanent resident raccoon. He can not rereleased because someone fed him cow milk before we ended up with him. Wildlife can not absorb the good nutrients in that milk and end up with something called metabolic bone disease (MBD). MBD is very painful and possible fatal. Blackjack can walk decent, does not run well, and can not climb trees. We were able to stop the MBD, prevent future damage, but could not reverse the damage already done.
If you find a wild animal, please never feed it anything unless a licensed rehabber directs you otherwise. We can always hydrate when we get the animal. Hopefully, that is right away.
You can meet Backjack at our LUV nights or see him and all of the other educational animals on one of our newly offered tours.

When you realize Christmas is over and you have to go back to work.
Doing some serious math.
Playing with a dowel that fell on the floor lol. He just wandered in after lunch and stayed there. Hung out with us for like 3 hours. Was a very interesting day.
His little people hands!!!
